The St. Louis Artists’ Guild presents Photo Op, a juried group exhibition of photography
(digital or analog) and artwork incorporating photographic imagery. Juror Daniel Farnum (Professor of Photography, University of Missouri at Columbia) selected 65 pieces by 42 different artists. The work in Photo Op covers a wide range of styles and content, including staged or constructed tableaus, digitally manipulated imagery, and straightforward photography.

AVA will host an exhibition of select works from the Knoxville Arts and Culture Alliance Members Show, the largest annual exhibition of artists in the greater Knoxville area. The fresh mix of two- and three-dimensional works created within the last two years encompasses a wide variety of media such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, photography, sculpture, and more from Knoxville based artists who are all members of the Arts & Culture Alliance.

The exhibition will be on display in AVA’s Main gallery from January 4-February 22, 2013, and an opening reception will take place January 4 from 5:30-8:00 PM, and is free and open to the public.

Open Studio Night: Vacuum Shop Studios, First Friday in February !

The Vacuum Shop Studios will have their first open studio night on the First Friday of February 2013. Please come visit us, see our new studios and what we’ve been making. We’ll be there from 7pm to 10pm, Friday February 1st.

The Vacuum Shop Studios are a collaborative work space for artists in Knoxville, TN, in the former location of a vacuum repair shop. We are located at 1326 Broadway. Check back here for postings regarding open studio nights and exhibitions by our artists. The artists of Vacuum Shop Studios are Eleanor Aldrich, Briena Harmening, Kelly Hider, Emmy Lingscheit, Guen Montgomery, Chelsie Nunn, Rachel Principe, and Jessie Van der Laan.
